ABOUT THE GROUNDS
Backcountry Gardens is not a botanical garden with a large maintenance staff and budget. It's simply a beautiful tract of land with very diverse terrain like the natural California sage chapparal, beautiful blue granite outcropping and 100-year-old olive grove and mill.
The diversity of the terrain allows it to support a wide variety of plants and wildlife. We do our best to respect these local inhabitants. Because of that, the gardens are only open to visitors by invitation.
Here's a peak at some of the habitats --- and inhabitants on the grounds.
